Bible Study

As Anglican Catholics, we believe that all things necessary for salvation are contained within Holy Scripture. We offer two opportunities each week to study God’s Word. On most Sunday mornings, a class is held at 10:00 a.m. in our parish hall, Lewis Hall. This 45 minute period of instruction occurs between our 9:00 a.m. & 11:00 a.m. services, as such, it is convenient for those attending either service. It also gives folks that attend opposite services an opportunity to gather for coffee and fellowship. Books from both the Old and New Testaments are discussed from the perspective of how their teachings relate to every day life.

For a more formal study, our own Archbishop Haverland teaches a class in his office most Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. Past class series have included studies on Genesis, I & II Kings, Daniel, Samuel, and the Book of Revelation. Study guides and notes are given out at each class and questions and participation are encouraged.

Finally, all of the sermons preached at St. Stephen’s are always based on the Scripture readings of the day. Thus, all sermons are biblically sound and provide solid instruction in the Christian life.
